About the Projects

The Power the Bay projects are reliability-driven projects that will strengthen the electrical grid by providing robust, new connections within each area. The projects will support economic development and provide better access to cost-effective energy to meet the needs of residents and businesses.

Construction on Power the South Bay and Power Santa Clara Valley projects began in spring 2026. The construction phase is anticipated to last approximately two years, concluding with the energization of the new project facilities planned for 2028. Construction of the Power the Valley Connector is targeted for 2028 after necessary permits, agreements, and land rights are received. Energization is anticipated in 2030.
